FEBRUARY IS HEART MONTH
As many of you may be aware, February is Heart Month, and a great time to raise awareness around cardiovascular disease (CVD), and CVD prevention. Heart Month is also a fantastic way to remind everyone to focus on their hearts and encourage them to get their families, friends and communities involved. The most important thing you can do is to speak to your physician about your risks and know your numbers: blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar levels, weight, and BMI.
The more a woman knows about heart disease, the better chance we have of beating it. Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year. CVDs are the number 1 cause of death globally: More people die annually from CVDs than from any other cause.
For the past 10 years the Cayman Heart Fund has worked diligently in the community raising funds to increase awareness about the risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke.
In honor of Heart Month, Balance Cayman is pleased to have the opportunity to raise funds for this important campaign, and will be offering 2 charity group fitness classes on Saturday, February 10th with 100% of proceeds being donated to the Cayman Heart Fund. A very special thank you to Colleen Mellott, coordinator of the CHF, who will be working with me to make it all happen! It promises to be a fun filled event with prize draws, bubbles, and healthy snacks at 12 pm following the classes.
Classes may be reserved with a minimum donation of CI$25, which may be paid at the studio on the day of the classes or prior. Simply email email@example.com for more info & to reserve your spot. Space is limited, so please book early.
