Sue Merren

Sue Merren has called Grand Cayman home for over 20 years. She spent the first several years of her career in the corporate world in Vancouver, Canada before moving to the island to pursue her passion for health and fitness. It was then that she turned that passion into a lifelong career and is now the owner/founder of Balance Cayman, a boutique-style studio specializing in Pilates, Strength Training, and Wellness.

Sue is a fully certified Personal Trainer, OPEX CCP candidate, and certified Stott® Pilates instructor. She also completed the BASI® Pilates Pro-Bridge and Mentor programs to further expand her Pilates teaching skills.

Other certifications include ACE® Personal Trainer, Precision Nutrition® Level 1 & 2 Nutrition Coach, TRX® Suspension Training, and most recently completing OPEX® CCP program, and attaining OPEX® Strength, Movement, and Nutrition certificates. Her latest education was a 4 month 1:1 mentorship with James Fitzgerald, OPEX founder, which expanded her coaching career even further.
As a lifelong learner, she has also completed many other specialty certifications around strength, wellness, and nutrition over the years to keep on top of industry trends. She enjoys teaching and crafting her own unique spin on Pilates and Strength training, and is always exploring new ways to challenge herself and her clients regardless of where they are in their fitness level.
Sue’s teaching style is fun, compassionate, results oriented, and professional. Sue truly believes that movement is medicine for the mind, body, and spirit, and loves to see her clients thrive when they can honestly see and feel the changes that the right training & lifestyle program combined with a positive mindset can bring. As a business owner, wife, and parent, Sue can also relate to the challenges that so many of us face on a daily basis in terms of juggling careers, personal health, leisure time, nutrition, injuries, and the demands of having a family. She helps her clients find ways to make it all work. Her contagious enthusiasm and dedication to living a balanced and healthy lifestyle motivates her clients to become their personal best.

Sue is also a former professional Figure Athlete and has earned both WNBF and IFPA pro cards. She is proud of the fact that she is a natural athlete and credits her success to the Pilates method as the foundation to her fitness lifestyle. The Pilates method has allowed her to train hard and remain strong throughout her career.

When she’s not at the studio coaching clients, she loves to spend her free time with her husband, son, and 2 rescue dogs, enjoying all that the Cayman lifestyle has to offer.

Balance Cayman is a boutique Pilates, strength, and fitness studio providing 1:1 private coaching both remote and in person, and is dedicated to bringing you long-term, sustainable results.
